Sight-Reading notes using traditional methods is often difficult, frustrating and time-consuming - it can take years for students to learn! Learners often become overwhelmed and progress can be held back because of this issue.
However, it is possible to overcome this early stage of learning to read and play the notes! It doesn't have to take years or even months and can quickly your learning and be fun and satisfying!
Accelerate your piano learning with the Note Navigation System which is much more efficient, effective and easy to understand than other traditional methods taught by most music teachers.
What does the Note Navigation System involve?
A Simple process using 9 Waypoint notes which allow you to quickly learn the vast range of notes on the piano score.
Efficient - Using an easy visual guide of the Waypoints, making Sight-Reading much easier and more effective than using less efficient mnemonics. Learners will also learn about ancillary notes - how to read and play sharp/flat notes, ledger lines and notes in highest and lowest ranges of piano.
Speed - It allows you to quickly identify notes and play them on the piano. After lots of practice with the Sight Reading Speed Training exercises, reading the notes should become more automatic like a reflex!
Focused - the main aim is to see a note, identify it and play it instantly on the piano. There is no requirement to spend hours learning musical terminology or complicated symbols.
NOTE: This course does not cover key signatures, time values, playing rhythms or playing any pieces. It focuses on speed reading and playing the notes - which will accelerate your piano learning so that you can learn to play your favourite songs on the piano in less time!
Meet your Course Teacher
Hello, my name is Eileen (a.k.a Creative Musician Ireland) and I'm a music teacher, composer and arranger from Dublin, Ireland.
I'v been playing the piano for nearly 30 years, since my very first lesson as a child! I studied music in University College Dublin, completed my H. Dip in Music Ed. in Griffith College Dublin in 2009 and recently graduated from University of Limerick with a Masters in Composition and Creative Music Practice in January 2022.
I have performed in lots of different settings, as a soloist and with several different bands and orchestras, small and big!
I've been teaching music for 13 years now - both privately and in music schools, adult education and community settings. I’m a multi- instrumentalist, my instruments are piano, saxophone, ukulele, clarinet, guitar and I also sing. I have lots of interests and am really passionate about teaching, composing, arranging, music technology, making music videos, art, digital illustration, photography, philosophy, poetry, nature, animals and more! I have a background in technology also am really looking forward to creating more online courses for music students :)
